- At the Department of English and Comparative Literary Studies you will be learning from experts at the forefront of their fields. A unique focus on Shakespeare draws on our proximity to the RSC in Stratford-upon-Avon. Other research strengths include renaissance literature, eighteenth century studies, American literature, women’s writing, world and comparative literature, post-colonal literature, creative writing, poetry and poetics, drama and performance, literary and cultural theory.
