As a BU Marketing Communications student you'll also have the opportunity to organise the annual Mike Warne Event in your final year. This is the only student-organised event in the CIM’s national event programme, bringing together leaders in the industry.  

Foundation year: We have a foundation year option for students who do not meet the entry requirements for the degree course. This additional year of study will give you a grounding in the media & communication skills required for this course, building your confidence, knowledge and skills for further study. After successful completion of the foundation year, you will progress to the full degree.

Entry requirements

For September 2024 and September 2025 entry: 104 - 120 UCAS tariff points including a minimum of two A-levels or equivalent. 

Please see below some examples of the qualifications for entry onto Year 1 for September 2024 and September 2025 entry:

  • China: Chinese Senior High School Graduation Certificate (Huikao) average 80%, or Gaokao 61-71%. Grade depends on the course
  • France: Baccalaureate with 11.5–12.5 overall or 10.5-11.5 (international option)
  • Hong Kong: HKDSE Diploma (4,4,3 to 4,4,4 from three subjects). Grade depends on the course
  • India: All India Senior School Certificate Examination (Standard XII) 60-70%
  • Spain: Titulo de Bachillerato with 6 - 7. Grade depends on the course
  • Turkey: Devlet Lise Diplomasi/Lise Bitirme Diplomasi 3.5/5.0 or 70%

International Requirements for September 2024 and September 2025 entry: If English is not your first language you'll need IELTS (Academic) 6.0 with a minimum of 6.0 in writing and 5.5 in all other components, or equivalent. For more information, check out our international entry requirements.
